Eastern Mediterranean University

EMU Ranks as the Best University of Cyprus in the World University Impact Rankings – Ranked 2nd in Turkey and in 201-300 Band Worldwide

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) continues its rapid rise in the world university rankings with another achievement. On Wednesday, 27 April 2022 at 21:00, the UK-based Times Higher Education (THE), the publisher of the world’s most widely-referenced university rankings, announced the impact rankings of universities according to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. According to the said rankings, EMU raised its last year’s score of 69,4 to 79,5, moving from 301-400 band to 201-300 band this year.

Near East University

The Near East University, one of the most known North Cyprus universities, established in 1988, is located in Nicosia, capital of North Cyprus, and as an international higher education institution employing highly qualified staff, offers the most extensive undergraduate and postgraduate education opportunities to over 26 thousand students coming from over 100 countries. The Near East University has 20 faculties comprising 220 departments and programs, 8 graduate schools with around 218 graduate and postgraduate programs, and 3 high schools, 28 research institutes.

Cyprus International University

Founded in 1997, the Cyprus International University is located in the capital city of Nicosia. The University offers over 100 degree programs to students from over 100 countries.

There are 12 faculties at the university, as well as eight schools and an institute of graduate studies. Across this wide range of academic departments, students have access to programs in disciplines including health sciences, law, medicine, arts, dentistry, economics, communication and engineering.

Girne American University

Girne American University was founded in 1985 and has grown from its small beginnings with just seven students to 20,000 in 2018. From its very inception, GAU has maintained close contractual ties with universities in North America and Europe. GAU was one of the first university in Cyprus to receive recognition from YOK (Turkish Higher Education Council). This was followed by recognition from YODAK (Higher Education Council of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus).
